Hello all, I'm clueless! I have no idea what to do with rockbox and my iPod nano. First of all, I'm not even certain if my nano is a 1st gen. I think it is but not sure. Now what? How to get rockbox onto my nano? What will it do for me? I went to the rockbox iPod nano daily builds and downloaded the latest, but don't know where to go from here. I don't want to mess anything up.

Good evening. First, you have got to follow the instructions precisly. I loaded rockbox on an iriver h10 and you will need to download files for the voice as well as probably other files. There should be a step by step manual or text file describing how to do this. It looks rather daunting when you start but the instructoins should be pretty good. Not having an ipod I can't even start directing you but the text file should have all of that. please let us know how it goes.
Oh my gall y'all! I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to figure this out. It's very technical. Lol, I haven't given up, but wowzer! It talks about command line promps, root directories, dot talk files, and so on. Definitely not a wing it type opporation.
Oh, and I finally know the difference between IPod Nano gen 1 and 2. 2nd is the one completely wrapped in metal. 1st has a stainless steel case back and feels like a plastic front.
The bummer is, the 2nd has a more defined circle.
Well, we'll see. I'll keep reading and hopefully get comfortable with this project. Lol, maybe I should play with the sansa a bit more.
